Obviously this was not an easy choice and I definitely cannot pick just one place but my current top choice is Alsace, France. The region has changed hands between Germany and France so many times in the past so the culture is an interesting mix of both. I just think there is something really special about a quaint part of eastern France--no hustle and bustle of Paris, just wine, cheese, German beer, and beautiful historic architecture.
